To celebrate the Movie Club’s 10th Anniversary, Golden Village released a series of wall contests for their online marketing campaign. Working with IH Digital, a digital marketing agency, Golden Village used animated GIFs to engage with its social media audience and strengthen its position as the most socially engaged cinema chain brand in Singapore.
The series of animated gifs, used in the wall contests, depicts the different movie characters that are wildly popular and greatly loved. Fans are supposed to guess the movie characters represented in the gifs. Participants stand to win attractive prizes from Golden Village. The concept behind this online marketing campaign was in line with Golden Village’s aim of producing targeted and quality social media content.
In the first animated gif, Mr Popcorn dressed up as the boy who lived, Harry Potter. This adorable imitation has the same effect as the magical spell “Accio Fans” – a great number of fans was “summoned”. The post was successful in engaging its social media audience.
In the second animated gif, Mr Popcorn was standing beside Harry Hart, the “Kingsman” gentleman – cum – secret agent who taught us “Manners Maketh Man”. This gif also doubled up as a promotional material for its upcoming sequel. Likewise, the post was also successful in engaging its social media audience.
